and we're back!

wow, what a fantastic thanksgiving break -- hope you all had a lovely long weekend with family or friends! obviously it took me a bit to get back into the swing of things as i gave myself yesterday off from blogging. but now i'm back! [anyone else incredulous it's december already?!?]

and i just wanted to give a post-thanksgiving cards for dads update to everyone who so generously donated cards to the hill family. we had more than 40 cards total and they were SO beautiful -- i could tell so much care had gone into each one.

i wrapped all the cards up in a box and my husband & i ding-dong-ditched it on the hill's doorstep the week before thanksgiving. over the weekend, rich hill himself posted a kind note on his blog about receiving the package, titled "appreciation to friends unknown." it included this section:

Just days before Thanksgiving, the Get Well Soon box was left anonymously on my front porch. Upon further inspection, I found a box full of beautiful, hand-made cards from people I do not know...

The cards are hand-made and beautiful and the messages magnificent: messages of love, faith, and encouragement.

Lyndsey and Cherry Blossom and all of those who created these beautiful cards: you are true examples of love - for a family you have never met. May the Lord's blessings always be with you.

yay! we lifted their spirits! thank you thank you to everyone who participated -- know that you made a difference.

and, true to my promise, here are the three winners of handmade cards -- email me your mailing address and i'll send you a pack of cards:

- janessa
- becca
- nancy

thanks again! i'll be back to regular paper-loving blogging tomorrow!

  1. Yay! I am glad he got them and was encouraged by them!

  2. Hooray, I'm so glad he liked them and that he posted something on his blog about them. How rewarding. Great idea! Thanks for thinking of it!
