my half birthday

today is my half birthday! i've always celebrated this day even though other people look at me like i'm crazy. hey, why not take every excuse to party? besides, now that i share my birthday with baby jack, i'm pretty sure my actual day will be heavily overshadowed from here on out -- so i might as well celebrate on my half birthday instead. right? right.

a funny half-birthday card found on someecards.com:

and a really cute half-birthday party from hank + hunt:

do you celebrate your halfsies too? or am i alone on this one? anyone?

  1. Lovin this! A while back I was looking for a birthday card for a friend. I had zero luck finding what I was looking for. I told a group of friends about this problem one night while we were having a few drinks. We proceeded to get smashed and make up a bunch of greeting cards we found funny. I had been writing down the cards we made up and the next morning I read them. Much to my surprise the cards were still funny even when sober.

  2. I LOVE that you celebrate your half birthday! I've always wanted to for the extra birthday cake alone...;) You just made my day by putting up Harry's half birthday!

  3. One of my earliest memories is helping my grandma make me a half birthday cake. It was a big deal in elementary school because I have a summer birthday, so that was my chance to take cupcakes to the class.

  5. Figuring out a half birthday involves too much math. And I'm not into that.

  6. I think it's awesome that you celebrate your half birthday! I've always thought that for the December kids, this is the way to go. Who wants Christmas and birthday in the same month?! Have a June half-birthday party and then you can feel showered with gifts a little more often! :)

  7. Funny. My kids' birthdays are actually half birthdays (to the date) of each other. May be a fun thing to do so the other won't feel so left out! Lovin' the half birthday idea!
