have you heard of ladies of letterpress? it's a trade organization for letterpress printers and lovers of print of all kinds [thus, i am a member. nice to know you don't have to be a professional printer to join!].
in the community, you can read about printers' business adventures, ask for advice, share resources, find inspiration and more. members attend craft fairs, organize collaborative projects and meetups, and go to trade shows in hopes of encouraging the voice and vision of women printers.
i think ladies of letterpress is such a meaningful organization. their tongue-in-cheek tag line is "dedicated to the proposition that a woman's place is in the print shop," but seriously -- how great is it that women in such a historic, creative industry have banded together? i love it.
they've got a forum, a blog, videos, photos and more -- and they're hosting their first annual ladies of letterpress conference this august in asheville, north carolina! wish i didn't live on the other side of the country...i would loooove to attend.
