our 2012 christmas cards

happy new year!! hope your 2013 is off to a good start. we just got home from a blissful three weeks in the california sunshine, so it's time to get back to blogging & real life. thought i'd start out by sharing the awesome christmas cards we sent out this year -- printed by the one & only brightside prints.

i chose the chalkboard lettering style for these cards, which was originally a horizontal card -- but my photo looked better in a vertical layout, so the kind folks at brightside just flipped it around for me. that's one of the things i love best about working with this company -- they are SO easy to work with and can change up designs at the drop of a hat. i love how it turned out!

i especially love the cute chalkboard-snowflake backer. (need a refresher on the basics of a backer? read this post.) i think backers add such a special touch to cards. i actually stuffed my envelopes with the backer facing out so people would see that first!

here's another secret -- we took our photo using only my tripod, one cloudy sunday morning at the end of my street. one nice thing about living in seattle is that there are beautiful tree backdrops everywhere you look :) not the most professional photo, but it works.

we used kraft envelopes and i stamped each one with my gorgeous meant to be calligraphy address stamp. EVERYONE who got a card commented on the beautiful stamp. :) such a good way to spice up your packaging!

and with that...a belated merry christmas & happy new year to all of you! stay tuned this week for a BIG announcement (hint: valentines day is coming!). a HUGE thank you to brightside prints for providing our christmas cards this year!

past christmas cards from our home to yours:
